Grade 5 titanium tubing is highly resistant to corrosion in a wide range of media, especially in neutral and oxidising media. It has good corrosion resistance to most alkali solutions, but is not suitable for boiling sodium hydroxide solutions.Grade 5 titanium tubing does not corrode in seawater and is resistant to most organic acids (except formic acid and oxalic acid). Excellent corrosion resistance in wet chlorine gas and chloride solutions such as chlorite and hypochlorite. Corrosion resistance in sodium chloride solution improves with increasing solution pH.
