What is a GR12 titanium tube?
Titanium Grade 12 is a titanium alloy alloyed with Ni, Pd and Mo with excellent corrosion resistance and higher strength than Titanium Grade 2. Titanium Gr.12 offers excellent corrosion resistance to acids as well as very good resistance to crevice corrosion in hot brines. Due to the higher strength, Titanium Gr.12 can be used with a thinner wall thickness than Titanium Gr.2 or Titanium Gr.7 under the same conditions.

GR12 titanium pipe corrosion resistance
As a representative of corrosion-resistant materials, GR12 titanium tubes exhibit excellent performance in various media environments. In chemical production, they can withstand corrosion from strong acid solutions such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and nitric acid, and are not prone to oxidation or pitting corrosion in marine environments such as seawater and salt spray. According to data from a third-party testing agency, after immersing in a 30% sulfuric acid solution for 1000 hours, the corrosion rate of the tube is only 0.01 mm/year. This corrosion resistance makes GR12 titanium tubes widely used in critical equipment such as heat exchangers and reactors, effectively preventing equipment leaks and production interruptions caused by corrosion.
