How do I select the correct titanium welding rod grade?
General Rule: Match the filler metal to the base metal:
For welding CP titanium grades, use ERTi-1, -2, -3, or -4 matching the base metal strength
For welding Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5), use ERTi-5
For welding Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Grade 23), use ERTi-5ELI
For welding dissimilar grades, select filler matching the higher strength or more corrosion-resistant alloy
