Product Introduction

We manufacture custom CNC machined valve bodies from customer drawings and CAD files, including ball valve bodies, gate valve bodies, globe valve bodies, check valve bodies, butterfly valve bodies, needle and metering valve bodies, solenoid valve bodies, pressure relief valve bodies, control and regulator valve bodies, manifold-mounted valve bodies, sanitary and hygienic valve bodies and custom flow-control bodies. Our CNC milling, turning, boring and deep-hole drilling capabilities produce accurate, leak-tight valve bodies for hydraulic, pneumatic, process, marine and instrumentation systems.

A valve body contains the flow path and locates every sealing and operating component, so seat-bore roundness, stem-bore alignment, port centerlines, sealing-face flatness and flow-passage geometry decide whether the valve seals, strokes and controls flow correctly. We machine valve bodies from aluminum (6061-T6, 6082-T6, 7075-T6, 5083), stainless steel (303, 304, 316L, 17-4 PH), carbon and alloy steel (1045, 4140, 4340), brass (C36000, C46400), copper (C10100, C11000) and titanium (Grade 2, Grade 5), machined from solid block and bar - not cast - so seats, passages and ports are cut to the drawing for prototypes and low-volume production. Parts are manufactured to specified dimensions, tolerances, materials and finishing requirements, with material certificates available on request.

Valve Body Accuracy, Flow Ports & Sealing

Valve bodies are defined by their bores, seats and flow passages. The items below decide whether the valve seals, strokes and meets its flow rating. We machine them to drawing, and tighter on request.

Feature Typical Capability Why It Matters for Valve Bodies
Seat Bore & Pocket ±0.01–0.02 mm; H7 with roundness <0.01 mm Ball, disc and poppet seats seal without leakage
Stem / Spool Bore Alignment Run-out <0.01–0.02 mm across bores Stems and spools stroke freely without binding
Port Centerline Position ±0.05–0.1 mm (precision to ±0.02 mm) End connections and manifolds line up with piping
Sealing-Face Flatness 0.02–0.05 mm over the face Gasket and O-ring faces seal on flanges and bonnets
Flow Passage Geometry ±0.1–0.2 mm (precision to ±0.05 mm) Accurate flow coefficient (Cv) and low pressure drop
O-Ring & Seat Grooves Profile and depth ±0.05 mm Repeatable seal compression on seats and covers
Threaded End Connections ISO 6g / 6H or per drawing NPT, BSPP, BSPT and UN connections seal correctly
Flange Face & Bolt Pattern Flatness 0.05–0.1 mm; hole pattern ±0.05 mm Valves bolt up square to flanges and subplates
Surface Roughness Ra 0.8–3.2 μm; Ra 0.4–0.8 μm on request Seats, sealing faces and clean-service flow paths
Critical Dimensions ±0.01 mm (precision to ±0.005 mm) Gauge-quality and alignment features

Critical Features We Control

Seats & Seat Pockets - bored round and concentric so balls, discs and poppets seal with low operating torque.

Bore Alignment - stem and spool bores machined on one centerline so moving parts stroke freely and seal evenly.

Sealing Faces - flange, bonnet and port faces machined flat, with O-ring grooves cut to profile and depth.

Flow Passages - passages and ports drilled and deburred so flow paths are clean and match the flow rating.

Threads & End Connections - NPT, BSPP, BSPT, metric and UN threads cut to class with correct depth and lead.

Identification - part numbers or laser marking on request for traceability and assembly.

Heat Treatment & Stress Relief for CNC Valve Bodies

Loaded steel and high-strength valve bodies are heat treated as specified by the drawing. Stress relief before finish machining keeps bores and sealing faces dimensionally stable.

Heat Treatment Applicable Grades Typical Valve Body Parts Benefit
Quench & Temper 1045 · 4140 · 4340 High-pressure hydraulic and relief valve bodies Higher strength for pressure and threaded connections
Solution + Aging 17-4 PH · 7075-T6 High-strength stainless and aluminum valve bodies Strength with corrosion resistance
Stress Relieving All steel grades · 6061-T6 Complex bodies before finish boring of seats Improves roundness and dimensional stability
Normalizing Carbon steel General-purpose steel bodies Uniform structure and machinability

Prototype & Low-Volume Valve Body Machining

Valve body projects often start with prototypes - new port layouts, seat designs or replacements for obsolete bodies that must be tested before production. Machining from solid block avoids casting tooling and lead times, so prototypes and low volumes are practical. We support prototype and low-volume CNC machining from single samples to repeat small-batch orders.
