Products Description
The main difference between pure titanium GR.1 and GR.2 is the content of iron, oxygen, and nitrogen. Because the content of the above elements is different, the strength also varies greatly, especially the oxygen content. The difference in oxygen content of 0.01% will make all the difference. Brings a strength difference of tens of MPa. Therefore, there are some differences in subsequent processing performance. But for the corrosion resistance of the material, the two are almost equivalent. Generally speaking, pure titanium GR.1 and GR.2 are basically used in various working conditions where the temperature is -253~250℃ and the stress is not large.
GR2 titanium alloy is a material that is highly resistant to oxidation, alkali, organic composite acids, hydrochloric acid solutions and high-temperature gases. And it can resist the corrosion of nitric acid, neutral reducing acid, wet chlorine and bromine. Titanium alloy GR 2 can also be used in heat exchangers and is resistant to salt water corrosion at temperatures up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. Suitable for marine environment and seawater desalination equipment. GR 2 can also be used in power stations and the oil and gas industry.
Manufacturing Process
The distinguishing point between hot rolling and cold rolling is the recrystallization temperature, above which is hot rolling, and below it is cold rolling. There is an oxide layer on the surface of hot rolling, so there will be a difference in plate thickness; cold rolling has no oxide layer and the quality is better. Hot rolling is generally used to process steel ingots and billets; cold rolling is generally used to produce strips and is faster.
In terms of processing technology, hot rolling is hot processing and cold rolling is cold processing. Hot rolling is mainly used in the production of steel structures, bridges, ships, vehicles, and various mechanical parts. Cold rolling is mainly used in automobiles, refrigerators, washing machines and other home appliances, as well as industrial equipment and various building materials.
Cold-rolled steel is steel produced by cold rolling. Cold rolling is a steel plate that is further thinned to a target thickness at room temperature. Hot rolled steel is a kind of steel that is rolled above the recrystallization temperature.
