Welding of Grade 7 solid titanium rods is preferably carried out by means of argon arc welding. During the welding process, the weld pool and the heat-affected zone, where the temperature exceeds 400°C, need to be protected against contamination by airborne gases. If the welding is a cylindrical workpiece, the upper and lower protection boxes can be used to provide argon gas protection. It is also necessary to clean the surface of the welding bevel before welding.
