What is GR12 Titanium Alloy Wire?
GR12 titanium alloy wire (UNS R53400) is a medium-strength titanium alloy containing 0.3% molybdenum and 0.8% nickel. This specific alloy combination was developed to provide enhanced corrosion resistance in reducing acid environments while maintaining excellent fabricability. The molybdenum and nickel additions act as cathodic activators, promoting passivation and extending the range of environments where titanium remains corrosion-resistant.

Higher Strength than CP Grades:
Approximately 40% stronger than Grade 2 (380 MPa vs 275 MPa yield) while maintaining good ductility
Excellent Crevice Corrosion Resistance:
Outperforms CP titanium in chloride crevice environments above 70°C (160°F)
