What is Titanium Grade 7 & Grade 9 Wire?
Grade 7 Titanium Wire (UNS R52400) is a commercially pure titanium grade with a small addition of palladium (0.12-0.25%), offering significantly enhanced corrosion resistance in reducing acid environments. It combines the excellent formability and weldability of CP titanium with superior resistance to crevice corrosion and attack from hydrochloric, sulfuric, and phosphoric acids.
Grade 9 Titanium Wire (UNS R56320) is a beta-rich titanium alloy (Ti-3Al-2.5V) containing 3% aluminum and 2.5% vanadium. It offers intermediate strength between CP grades and high-strength alloys like Grade 5, with excellent formability, weldability, and corrosion resistance. Often specified for hydraulic tubing, aerospace applications, and marine components requiring moderate strength with good cold formability.
