Titanium is chemically active and reacts strongly with O, N, H, CO, CO2, water vapor and ammonia in the atmosphere.Special processes are required for reprocessing.When cleaning, first demagnetize. All parts should be demagnetized to a minimum of a magnetic field strength of no more than 3 gauss (except where the functional requirements of the part are magnetic). Next comes the general cleaning. Remove oil and grease by wiping the surface of the part with a clean gauze moistened with acetone, butanone or isopropyl acetone. Then pressure rinse. Parts with deep grooves should be pressure washed and the solution should be filtered through a 5μ filter before rinsing. Finally, rinse the part with deionized water.
