What is a GR12 titanium tube?
Its primary alloying elements is:0.3% molybdenum,0.8% nickel.The small addition of these elements significantly improves its corrosion behavior without compromising the formability of unalloyed titanium.,compared with other titanium grades are as belows:
1,Cost-effective:it maintains superior resistance to crevice corrosion and corrosion in reducing acids just as similar as pure titanium grade 2.Meanwhile,it performs on par with grade 7 in many environments but is more cost-effetive.
2,Medium Strength:it offers mechanical strength slightly higher than pure titanium grade 2 but lowe than grade 5.
3,Good high temperature Properties:maintains good strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures(up to 425℃),similar to or slightly better than grade 2.
Gr12 Alloy Proformance
Density of Gr12 titanium plate is 4.54 g/m3,
elastic modulus of 103 ~ 107 gpa at room temperature,
hardness HB180 ~ 215, the phase transformation point 890 + 15 ℃.
Improved corrosion resistant performance: nickel crevice corrosion resistance of titanium in hydrochloric acid solution, but in reducing acid, the corrosion resistance of Ti - Ni alloy is lower than the pure titanium instead. Appropriate to join in the Ti - Ni alloy mesh, can improve its corrosion resistance in the reducing medium.
