What is a GR12 titanium tube?
Titanium Grade 12 is a titanium alloy alloyed with Ni, Pd and Mo with excellent corrosion resistance and higher strength than Titanium Grade 2. Titanium Gr.12 offers excellent corrosion resistance to acids as well as very good resistance to crevice corrosion in hot brines. Due to the higher strength, Titanium Gr.12 can be used with a thinner wall thickness than Titanium Gr.2 or Titanium Gr.7 under the same conditions.

Corrosion Resistance of Titanium Alloy
Titanium alloys are widely used due to their excellent corrosion resistance, especially in chloride solutions. Adding small amounts of nickel and molybdenum to grade 12 titanium results in corrosion resistance superior to commercially available grade 2 titanium alloys, with a significant increase in strength. Except for resistance to crevice corrosion in high-temperature chloride solutions, the overall corrosion resistance of this grade of titanium alloy is inferior to that of grade 7 low-alloy titanium with added palladium. Titanium exhibits excellent resistance to general corrosion, with corrosion rates typically below 0.04 mm/year.
