Products Description
Gr5 titanium alloy was heated for a long time below 430℃ to form a very thin and protective oxide film. With the increase of heating temperature, the oxide film thickens and its protection becomes worse. The oxide film thickness of the alloy reaches 25μrn after heating at 700°C for 2h. A thin oxide layer is formed by heating at temperatures above 800℃. After heating at 1000℃ for 1 hour, the thickness of the oxide layer reaches 0.65mm.
Products Description
1) Gr5 alloy can be welded by argon arc welding, spot welding, brazing, electron beam welding and plasma welding. The strength of the welded joint is basically equivalent to that of the base metal.
2) 70% to 80% of the welding stress can be eliminated by stress-relieving annealing at 550-650℃ after welding Gr5 alloy. Stress relief annealing of sheet metal parts after welding is best done in vacuum furnace or protective atmosphere furnace.
