What is Gr4 titanium tube?
Gr4 titanium tube is also called TA4 titanium tube, is an α- type of titanium alloy that is in an α-type single-phase state when it is at room and service temperature. This alloy can't be strengthened by heat treatment, mainly rely on solid solution strengthening to improve the performance. Although the room temperature strength is generally lower than β' and α+β titanium alloys, the strength and creep strength is at high temperatures (500-600°C) are the highest of the three titanium alloys. all of these characteristics make the Gr4 titanium performs excellently when it is in the high temperature environments.
high strength
the strength of the Gr4 titanium alloy is the highest in the pure titanium grade.it is suitable for 0-427°C working environment, and the intermittent temperature is up to 538°C, and also it has good weldability .
Excellent corrosion resistance
Gr4 titanium alloy has good corrosion resistance, including acid and alkali, seawater and sewage corrosion resistance, which makes it performs well in harsh environments.

heat treatment characteristics
Although Gr4 titanium alloy can't be strengthened by heat treatment, annealing is the only form of heat treatment, and the performance is mainly improved by solid solution strengthening. The strength and its creep strength is the highest of the tree titanium alloys when it is at the high temperatures of (500°C-600°C) and meanwhile the microstructure stability ,oxidation resistance and the weldability of Gr4 titanium is good enough as well.
Due to the excellent properties of Gr4 titanium alloy, it is widely used in structural materials which need moderate strength and good corrosion resistance. Especially in the ultra-low temperature environment, when the content of gap impurity elements is rather low, the Gr4 titanium alloy shows excellent toughness and comprehensive mechanical properties. obviously, the Gr4 titanium alloy is an excellent ultra-low temperature alloy.
