TITANIUM SHEET & COIL AMS 4900

Commercially Pure or CP Titanium in unalloyed. Grade 3 is a general purpose grade of commercially pure titanium that has excellent corrosion resistance in highly oxidizing to mildly reducing environments, including chlorides, and an excellent strength to weight ratio. Grade 3 titanium features the highest ASME allowable design stresses of any commercially pure grade of titanium. It has good impact properties at low temperatures. It can be welded, machined, cold worked, hot worked, and cast.

Generally used where corrosion resistance is a major design factor in chemical production components, marine and airframe applications.

Commercially Pure Titanium: Also known as CP or Commercially Pure, are the unalloyed grades of titanium. CP Titanium is classified into Grades 1 through 4. There are grades with more limited availability for more specialized circumstances. Commercially Pure (CP) Titanium is used primarily for its corrosion resistance. It resists pitting, crevice and cavitation corrosion, erosion, and stress corrosion cracking in salt water, marine atmospheres, and a broad range of acids, alkalis, and industrial chemicals.
