The GR7 GR9 Titanium Alloy Sheet
What is GR7 Titanium Alloy Sheet?
GR7 (Grade 7, UNS R52400) is essentially Grade 2 titanium with a small, controlled addition of palladium (0.12-0.25%). This precious metal addition dramatically enhances corrosion resistance in reducing acid environments where standard titanium grades may show limited performance, while maintaining the excellent fabricability of Grade 2.
Key Features of GR7 Titanium Sheet:
Superior Corrosion Resistance: Significantly better than standard CP grades in reducing acids (sulfuric, hydrochloric, phosphoric)
Excellent Resistance to Crevice Corrosion: Outperforms all other CP grades in tight crevice conditions
Identical Mechanical Properties to Grade 2: Palladium addition does not affect strength or formability
Excellent Formability: Same outstanding formability as Grade 2
Outstanding Weldability: Readily weldable using standard titanium welding techniques

What is GR9 Titanium Alloy Sheet?
GR9 (Grade 9, UNS R56320) is a titanium alloy containing 3% aluminum and 2.5% vanadium (Ti-3Al-2.5V). It is often described as "half the strength of Ti-6Al-4V with twice the formability," making it the preferred choice for applications requiring moderate strength with exceptional forming characteristics.
Key Features of GR9 Titanium Sheet:
Excellent Formability: Can be cold formed, bent, and shaped more readily than higher-strength alloys
Good Strength: Approximately 60% higher strength than Grade 2
Superior Weldability: Readily weldable with properties approaching base metal
Good Corrosion Resistance: Equivalent to commercially pure titanium in most environments
Light Weight: Density 40% lower than steel
Fatigue Resistance: Good high-cycle fatigue properties
