Grade 4 titanium tubing is the strongest pure, unalloyed titanium product, exceeding grades 2 and 3. This grade is used almost exclusively in airframes, aircraft engine components, marine vessels, surgical implants, and hydraulic lines. It is characterized by excellent formability and corrosion resistance.
CP Grade 4 titanium tubing/Ti 70 titanium tubing is the strongest of the commercially pure titanium grades. Grade 4 commercially pure titanium tubing is renowned for its excellent corrosion resistance, good formability, and weldability. Grade 4 commercially pure titanium tubing is the strongest pure, unalloyed titanium product. This grade is used almost exclusively in airframes, aircraft engine components, marine vessels, surgical implants, and hydraulic lines. It is characterized by good formability and corrosion resistance. CP1 Grade 4 titanium tubing is often used in marine components due to its excellent corrosion fatigue resistance in seawater. Grade 4 titanium Ti70 alloy tubing is the strongest of the CP grades and rivals stainless steel in many corrosion-resistant applications. Titanium Alloy Grade 4 (3.7065) clad plates, Titanium Alloy Grade 4 UNS R50700 gaskets, Titanium Alloy CP-70 (Grade 4) round tubes, CP 70 Titanium rolled tubes, CP 70 Titanium seamless tubes, and Titanium Alloy Grade 4 welded tubes can all be cold formed by standard methods.
Titanium Grade 4 Mechanical Properties
Titanium grade 4 mechanical properties are that of Ultimate Tensile Strength of 550 MPa (79800 psi). The Yield Tensile Strength of titanium grade 4 is 480 - 552 MPa (69600 - 80100 psi). Titanium grade 4 has an Elongation at Break of 15%. The Modulus of Elasticity of titanium grade 4 is 105 GPa (15200 ksi). The Poisson's Ratio of titanium grade 4 is 0.37. Titanium grade 4 has an Electrical Resistivity of 6e-005 ohm-cm.
