The rolling process for titanium and titanium alloy wires is one of the key technologies in the metal processing field. It uses titanium and titanium alloy wire billets as raw materials and employs precise drawing techniques to produce various specifications of coiled or single-strand wire products. These titanium wire products are widely used in aerospace, instrumentation, electronics, corrosion-resistant materials, and other fields, demonstrating their exceptional performance and broad applicability.

Raw Materials and Product Applications

Raw Materials: Titanium and titanium alloy wire billets, including but not limited to industrial pure titanium, Ti-15Mo alloy, Ti-15Ta alloy, Ti-3Al, Ti-6Al-4V, and other compositions. These raw materials are provided in coiled or single-strand forms.

Product Applications:

Iodized titanium wire: Used in high-end fields such as precision instruments and electronic components.

Ti-15Mo alloy wire: Serves as a getter material for vacuum titanium ion pumps, playing a critical role in vacuum technology.

Ti-15Ta alloy wire: An important getter material for the vacuum industry.

Key Technical Parameters

Heating System and Final Rolling Temperature:

β-type titanium alloys: The pre-rolling heating temperature must be slightly below the (α+β)/β phase transformation temperature to ensure the rolling process is completed in the α+β phase region.

α-type titanium alloys: Heat treatment is conducted within the α+β phase region.

α+β-type titanium alloys: The heating temperature is above the β transformation temperature to ensure sufficient softening of the material for rolling. Heating time is calculated based on material thickness, typically at 1~1.5 mm/min.

Rolling Speed:
Given the high production demand for titanium and titanium alloy rolled profiles and the need to maintain a certain product length, the rolling speed is generally controlled at 1~3 m/s to avoid quality issues caused by excessive speed.

Roll Pass Design:
Suitable roll passes are selected or designed based on the deformation resistance, spread value, and elongation characteristics of titanium alloys. For mass-produced titanium alloy profiles, specialized roll passes for titanium alloys can be designed to optimize rolling efficiency and product quality.
