IperionX, Inc. is a leading US-based developer of titanium products, providing high-quality titanium resources and derivatives to advanced industries such as aerospace, aeronautics, electric vehicles and 3D printing. The company has a number of ground-breaking patented titanium production technologies such as Hydrogen Assisted Metallic Powder Reduction (HAMR) and Hydrogen Sintering and Phase Transformation (HSPT). These technologies enable the production of low-carbon, fully recycled titanium products that are critical to the development of the domestic titanium manufacturing industry in the United States.
IperionX's advanced titanium production technology has the potential to provide a lower cost and more sustainable supply chain for the domestic titanium raw material supply chain in the U.S. IperionX is producing titanium powder from titanium scrap at its operational pilot plant in Utah and intends to expand production at its titanium demonstration plant in Virginia. IperionX holds a 100% interest in the Titan Project, which hosts the largest JORC-compliant titanium, rare earth and zircon-rich ore resource in the United States.
In August 2023, Nanjixiong reported that IperionX had signed an order with Lockheed Martin for titanium parts: IperionX is using its powder metallurgy process and advanced titanium powder materials to produce titanium parts for Lockheed Martin - Nanjixiong 3D Printing Network - Platform (nanjixiong.com). Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company with approximately 116,000 employees worldwide engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and maintenance of advanced technology systems, products and services.
In October, IperionX entered into a co-operation agreement with legacy manufacturer GKN Aerospace (GKN uses IperionX for recycled titanium 3D printing - Nanjixiong 3D Printing - Platform (nanjixiong.com)) to produce 100% recycled titanium powder from scrap titanium feedstock supplied by GKN Aerospace. Both of these projects utilise IperionX's patented Hydrogen Sintering and Phase Transformation (HSPT) technology, a cutting-edge technology that enhances the microstructure of titanium parts to provide strength and fatigue properties comparable to those of deformed titanium alloys.
